Johanne Toussaint is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Resident Intern completing her training as part of Liberty University’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program. She is passionate about walking alongside individuals as they navigate life’s challenges and is committed to providing a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients can feel understood and empowered.
In addition to her clinical training, Johanne is certified to use the PREPARE-ENRICH program for seriously dating and engaged couples and for marriage enrichment. I am also a SYMBIS (September 2025) and New 5 Love Languages (September 2025) assessment facilitator. Outside of her counseling work, Johanne is a Ramsey Master Financial Coach and Financial Peace University coordinator, where she is passionate about helping others become debt-free. Overall, Johanne is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of the individuals and families she serves.
Her clinical interests include working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, relationship concerns, intimate partner abuse, domestic violence, and major life transitions. Johanne integrates evidence-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, and mindfulness-based practices while tailoring her work to meet the unique needs, backgrounds, and strengths of each client. She views counseling as a collaborative process and strives to empower clients to build resilience, discover healthier coping strategies, and move toward personal growth and healing.
Johanne values a holistic approach to wellness that honors the connection between mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. She believes that addressing the whole person allows for deeper healing and long-term growth. She enjoys hiking, spending quality time with family and friends, gardening, volunteering, and reading. These personal passions bring balance to her life and enrich her ability to connect with others in meaningful ways.
Johanne is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA).
