Matthew Schonberg Resident Intern - Therapist, Clinical Mental Health Counseling
Matthew Schonberg is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate intern at Northwestern University. He is dedicated to supporting individuals as they navigate personal challenges, life transitions, and mental health concerns. As a bilingual counselor-in-training fluent in both English and Spanish, Matthew strives to provide accessible and culturally responsive care to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Matthew's professional interests include working with immigrants, individuals experiencing homelessness, and those facing substance use and addiction-related challenges. Drawing from his experience in community outreach and social services, he is passionate about empowering clients, fostering resilience, and helping individuals identify their strengths as they work toward meaningful change.
Through a collaborative and compassionate approach, Matthew aims to create a safe, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, valued, and supported. He believes that strong therapeutic relationships can promote healing, growth, and lasting positive change. Outside of counseling, Matthew enjoys learning about different cultures, engaging in community service, and continuing to develop his skills as a mental health professional.
