Shamika Williams, MSW, LCSWA - Child and Adolescent Therapist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate
Ms. Shamika Williams brings to Soul Care a love for young people and a background in elementary education with a deep understanding of the academic and emotional challenges school-age children face. After several years in the classroom, Ms. Williams pursued a Masters of Social Work degree to expand her ability to support children beyond the school setting.
Shamika is passionate about creating safe, strengths-based spaces where young people can express themselves, build resilience, and thrive both in and out of school. Her approach is informed by trauma-sensitive practices, child development, and a strong commitment to culturally responsive care. Ms. William's guiding principle is to meet others where they are, holding space for both their struggle and their strength.
Ms. Williams received her BA from Pfeiffer University and my MSW from Winthrop University.
When asked about her “Why,” she tells people that "it is a privilege when someone chooses to share their story with me. I also understand what pain can do to a person. Because of that, I strive to ensure that those I work with know: I’m listening. I see them. And I’ll be their biggest cheerleader."
Life Verse: Philippians 4:11–13
Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
This reminds me that true peace is not found in perfect circumstances, but in learning to be content and strong through every season of life. Ms. Williams strives to create that kind of space for my clients — one where they feel seen, heard, and supported, no matter what they’re facing.
