
Daija Prather, MA, Resident Intern
Daija graduated from the University of North Carolina with a Bachelors in Psychology minorin in Religious Studies in 2013. She has always had a passion for learning about others and discovering how their religious backgrounds were interwoven into how and why they lived th lives. She felt called to help people in deeper, transformative ways and followed her passion towards pursuing a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. As a resident Intern, she hopes to serve a community of individuals who seek to alleviate their mental health stressors and meet goals to live a fulfilling life. She believes in incorporating wellness into life daily and hopes to partner with you on your journey to a better you by providing holistic care.
Understanding that no problems have only one solution, she draws from an integrated framework of modalities, theoretical orientations, and therapeutic treatments. More specifically, she holds an interest in Cognitive-Behavioral, Solutions Focused, and Rational-Emotive Behavioral theoretical orientations while incorporating mindfulness-based practices.
She is also motivated to meet clients where they are spiritually and will integrate religious or spiritual practices where beneficial.
Her favorite bible verse is from Proverbs 16:24 that says "Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul, and health to the body" which is what she plans to embody with each and every client she works with.
