Nakina Scott, MACC, NCC, LCMHC, LCAS-A, - Therapist
I am a board certified Licensed Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina, practicing as a therapist in Charlotte and surrounding counties. My education and professional background in behavioral health gives me a unique and effective approach to counseling.
I hold two master’s degrees. I hold a Master of Health Administration (MHA) from Pfeiffer College in Charlotte, NC. I also hold a Master of Arts in Christian Counseling (MACC) from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC. I am currently working on my Clinical Addictions Specialist Licensure.
Outside of private practice, I have worked for the past fifteen years as a Quality Assurance Director for a local non-profit behavioral health clinic. My experience includes infrastructure development for community based mental health programs and ensuring persons served receive quality care they deserve. In addition, I currently work as a Behavioral Health Surveyor. I am fortunate to travel nationally and internationally to provide peer related surveys and consultation for substance abuse and behavioral health organizations. It is a humbling experience to see the great work that so many organizations are doing across the world. God has truly blessed me.
My theoretical approach is eclectic and includes Person-Centered Therapy (PCT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Rational Emotive Brief Therapy (REBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). My experience includes treating children, adolescents and adults with depression, marital and family issues, ADHD, PTSD, anger management, grief/loss, suicidal ideation, and life coaching. I serve clients with diverse backgrounds and with a wide range of concerns.
