I have been practicing in the field of Mental Health and Substance Abuse as a Counselor for a total of four years. I received a Graduate Certificate in Counseling with a specialization in Contemporary Theory in Addictive Behavior in September 2017. I also received a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from The University of Texas at San Antonio in August 2015. In addition, I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte in May 2013.
I have experience working with individuals who have difficulties managing symptoms of; Substance Abuse, Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, ODD, DMD, HIV/AIDS, Chronic Homelessness, Criminal Justice Involvement, Domestic Violence, Severe Psychosis, and Bipolar Disorders.
I subscribe to a Cognitive Behavioral approach to counseling integrated with techniques and concepts from Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused Therapy. I am also a devout Christian and I integrate spiritual principles into my approach to counseling.
